With most of the world in the frozen depths of winter, it is no surprise that most of us who have the means to plot a vacation are dreaming of a tropical escape somewhere. In fact, here are some of our top picks for the world’s best beaches. If you’re planning a trip, you should definitely check them out.
* Baia do Sancho. This secluded Brazilian beach received a 2014 Traveler’s Choice award from Trip Advisor. Although the current can sometimes be tricky, this spot is great for snorkeling because it has an abundance of marine life. This scenic beach can be somewhat difficult to access as visitors must be able to climb down a metal ladder in order to get to the shore. Toilets and a stand selling refreshments can be found nearby. Visitors should take care not to bring too much stuff with them down to the beach because getting down the ladder can be a hassle in such instances.
*Grace Bay Beach. Located on Providenciales Island, this tropical paradise is only a short walk away from the nearby shops and restaurants. The beach itself is comprised of powdery white sand and azure blue waters. It is an excellent spot for swimming, snorkeling, and other aquatic activities. The area is particularly gorgeous at sunset. However, travelers should keep in mind that the beach can become crowded at times.
*The Baths. Found on the isle of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands, this photographic area features enormous boulders as well as grottoes and seaside pools. Those coming here should be sure to bring along vinegar in case of jellyfish stings as these creatures can sometimes be found swimming offshore. It is also a good idea to bring a camera to take photos of this scenic environment. Travelers should be aware that the shoreline can become crowded when the cruise ships are in port but it is otherwise a lovely spot.
