Should you Choose an All-Inclusive Vacation?

When it comes to vacation styles, all-inclusive vacations have a bad reputation. In a time where people are constantly trying to outdo each other with their “authentic” experiences and “getting off the beaten path”, those who choose all-inclusive vacations often feel like they’re taking the easy route.

Here are some reasons why you should choose an all-inclusive vacation:

Relaxation

There’s a big difference between traveling in order to see and learn more about the world, and traveling because you’ve worked hard all year and you really need a break. All-inclusive vacations are all about relaxation, which is something you can get behind if you simply want to lie by the pool with a drink in your hand.

Convenience

Paying once for accommodation, food, drinks and some activities is one of the most convenient ways to book a trip. Often gratuities can also be paid upfront or at the end of your stay, meaning you can leave your wallet in your hotel safe.

Price

All-inclusive resorts and hotels are often thought to be much more expensive, and sure, when you compare the price to a hotel that’s not all-inclusive you may see a big difference. But often people don’t factor in exactly how much they usually spend while on vacation.

Meals and drinks add up, and if you’re in a place with lots of tourists you can expect to be paying top dollar for eating and drinking out. Often when you add up exactly what you would spend on food and alcoholic drinks you’ll find that all-inclusive works out to be cheaper, especially because people usually eat and drink more on vacation than they do at home.

Community

It sounds funny, but all-inclusive hotels often have more of a community feel to them. The entertainment, meals and bars are always hopping, and you’ll often see the same faces every day. People have less reason to leave the resort, so they usually go out of their way to talk to others- meaning you’ll make more friends.

Time

While many people choose to stay in hotels that are not all-inclusive, once they get there they’re often shocked by how much food is in the restaurants onsite. This means they waste lots of time each day leaving the hotel to find food, and often end up having to pay for a taxi to take them into the main part of town as well.

While you should definitely make an effort to leave your resort and see a little of local life, leaving three times a day can get old, and you’ll find yourself wasting time while looking for different food options.

Service

Because tips aren’t expected, you’ll often find that the staff treat visitors like royalty. All-inclusive resorts often have entertainment staff who go out of their way to ensure everyone is having a good time, and you’ll probably find that most of the waiters know your name.
