Honolulu, Hawaii during February. This tropical paradise is an ideal spot for travelers that are planning a last minute getaway, mostly because accommodation prices are close to half off during this month. Not only that, but the town has been named one of America’s safest cities, according to a 2015 study. Numerous beaches line the island’s shores including the famous Waikiki Beach. Other points of interest in Honolulu are the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor and Queen Emma’s Summer Palace, which once was a royal family residence. Hiking, jogging, and various forms of water sports are also popular pastimes at this location.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida during May. Although this destination was a hot spot for Spring Break partiers in the 1980s, the town has since moved on to become a far classier place. However, if dealing with high temperatures and excessive humidity isn’t your forte, visiting Fort Lauderdale in the early spring is the best option. The weather will certainly be warm enough for swimming and other aquatic pursuits. Water sports of all kinds are naturally popular pastimes here but travelers can also enjoy jogging, bicycling, golfing, and shopping at this spot.

New Orleans, Louisiana during October. Despite the massive amounts of destruction that Hurricane Katrina inflicted on the city a decade ago, New Orleans has since returned to life. Eating Cajun food, drinking adult beverages, strolling the French Quarter, and visiting the local museums are all popular pastimes in this town. However, the week of Halloween is the most affordable time for travelers to visit because rooms are considerably cheaper than they are at other times of the year. Staying warm shouldn’t even be a problem because New Orleans has an average temperature of between 60 and 80 during the month of October and the humidity is certainly not as onerous as it is during the summer months.
