Best Destinations for Travel in 2016

In just three months, 2015 will be ending, and we’re sure if you’re anything like us these months will fly by as we rush to meet deadlines at work and focus on getting through the holidays.

If you’re aiming to travel next year, you may want to think about how you’ll make it happen. Maybe your New Years resolutions will include saving for travel or committing to taking some time off work mid-year.

Here are some of the best destinations for travel in 2016:

Mexico

While most people visit Cancun or Playa del Carmen, those who want to see more of Mexico should head to Riviera Nayarit. Located on the west coast of Mexico, this is a 200-mile stretch of coastline and you’ll find plenty of tequila, seafood and gorgeous beaches.

Visit Sayulita, a surfer town with cobblestone streets and some of the best fish tacos you’ll find anywhere. Those who love to snorkel should visit the Marieta Islands where you can also find excellent scuba diving and a protected area full of wild dolphins, manta rays, tropical fish and sea turtles.

Cuba

Cuba is only going to gain in popularity now that Americans can finally visit. This will be a trip filled with art, food, dancing and music, and the culture is sure to fulfil your need to get “off the beaten path”. The country is safe to travel and you’ll find some of the warmest people in the world here.

Be sure to see Havana and take part in the architectural walking tours inside Old Havana. You’ll be able to visit plenty of museums and take a ride in an antique car, before strolling through Central Park and visiting the National Capital building. Don’t forget to visit a tobacco factory to see how those famous cigars are made.

Jamaica

If you’re planning some relaxation with your significant other, and you can see yourself lying in a hammock as you watch the sunset and listen to the sounds of steel drums and waves, Jamaica is the place for you.

You’ll find some of the most beautiful beaches in the world on the west side of the island, or head to Rick’s Cafe which is a beach club on top of a cliff where you can meet both locals and other tourists. The most adventurous can jump 30 feet into the ocean from the top of a cliff, while others can watch and record the jumps on their smartphones.

Hawaii

While most people will visit Honolulu, for those who are looking for both beauty and adventure, consider visiting Kauai in 2016. This is the oldest of the main islands in Hawaii and is known as the “Garden Isle” due to its lush rainforests and (you guessed it) greenery everywhere. This was the backdrop to major films like Jurassic Park, Tropic Thunder and Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark.

If you love getting outdoors be sure to hike the Kaala trail which runs along the Na Pali coast. The hike is 11 miles long and you can expect the trail to take two days with a night of camping in between. You’ll see some of the most beautiful waterfalls along with Waimea Canyon.
